NFL: Lions at Buccanneers in Tampa, 9/11 Weekend Tribute Continues

So after weddings on Friday and Saturday, we woke bright and early for the drive on Sunday to Tampa to cover the Detroit Lions at the Tampa Buccaneers game. At after shaking off some early rust (hadn’t shot football since X-mas); we settled into a groove as the Lions kind of had their way with the Buc’s, winning 27-20 despite some miscue’s of their own. Managed some nice shots, and even had one picked by the NFL.COM’s top 10 shots of the week from all the NFL games. Not a bad way to start the 2011 season for sure. Pitching for the first time in a year following shoulder surgery, Johan Santana delivered 3 scoreless innings allowing just 2 hits against the Daytona Cubs. NY Mets David Wright does Rehab in St Lucie

Daytona Coke Zero 400 Nascar Race

So Fourth of July weekend found us at Daytona International Speedway to cover the Coke Zero 400. The weather turned out to be awesome, even if the racing was a little dull. The new restrictor plate style of 2 man bump drafting has pretty much killed the action on the big tracks in my opinion. Managed some decent action shots while being stuck in turns 1-2 for the night.
